A colleague here at our super-cool coworking space NextSpace just sent out an announcement about an upcoming conference in Mountain View focusing on “green” software. It’s an “unconference,” which I’m guessing is like a barcamp where the conference is made up by the participants as the day goes along.
After just finishing COMFEN and still working on Learn HVAC, I’m definitely interested and have already signed up. I’m very interested to learn more about what other developers are doing, especially in the area of simulations.

This is a request. Actually, this is a plea. A desperate, don’t-care-if-you-see-me-cry plea. Adobe, I’m pleading with you to give us version 2.0 of AIR that provides those OS-level functions that would make AIR applications really mean something on the desktop.
Adobe, look into my eyes. Repeat after me: “Adobe AIR v2 will be able to launch processes via the command line or a system exec call. This is necessary. This is destiny. Who argues with destiny? We will do this.”
