Finally, some nice quick PV3D Great White tutorials
If you do most of your learning through blog posts, and your focus has turned to papervision3d, check out this nice, quick set of tutorials by DEHASH. I’ve found it’s easiest to just do these in FlashDevelop, rather than monkey around with a project in Flex.
Warning: if you’re hoping to export 3D geometries from SketchUp and have them play nice in papervision, it’s going to be more difficult that you think. Although there’s a SketchupCollada parser in the org.papervision.objects.parsers package, it wasn’t working for me when I exported a simple cube with some materials applied. What I got was something more… interesting … a slightly challenged cube with no materials to wear. Ah, the cutting edge…
Collection of links and existential angst.
Brightworks has a nice collection of links for “Graphics, Skinning, Themes, CSS, etc.” All the stuff you should be up on if you’re doing RIA’s.
By the way, I stumbled on some great Flash games by Bloc by way of a post on DrawLogic. When I see great stuff like this, and then I read that the developers are pumping them out in a matter of weeks (read the notes below), I say to myself “What??!!” … no, no, I mean, I say to myself, “what a cool time to be doing Flash when so many smart people are making great stuff.” Yes, that is what I say. Now, back to those links…gotta…learn…more….
