Application Examples
COMFEN3 : Facade Energy Peformance Made Easy
Lawrence Berkeley National Labs wanted a complete desktop application for quickly comparing the energy performance of
different facades. We gave them an intuitive yet powerful tool.

Learn HVAC : Simulation for Enhanced Learning
The Institute for Sustainable Building Performance of Berkeley, CA hired us to help them build a fun,
interesting and powerful learning tool for Laney College HVAC engineering students. Working with TDG and Lawrence Berkeley Labs, we took a mathematical simulation engine
and turned it into a complete learning tool.

WorkZoneViz : Flash Desktop Application for Engineering Lecturers
The ITS group within U.C. Berkeley needed a tool for their traffic engineering instructors
to quickly illustrate different scenarios and situations in class. Three months. Limited budget. Vague Requirements. What happened?

Desktop and Web-based Applications
We create interactive applications and e-Learning environments that combine data processing with visual representations of data. Using Adobe Flex, Flash and AIR, we build these applications to help our users manage data, run simulations, or learn about complex concepts through illustrations and animations.
User-centered design principles are core to our work. We conduct research into the audience, purpose and context of the application and build prototypes in frequent iterations until we converge on something that meets the users' needs.
Rather than claim we can do everything, it's important for you to know what we don't do: we don't do enterprise-level applications or projects that involve a large number of programmers and other technical design staff. We don't do advertising websites heavy on splash and flash.
Instead we focus small-to-mid-sized projects that need a targeted application that solves a specific problem — like simulating the energy use of an energy zone in a building. Or creating a illustrative teaching tool for traffic engineering instructors. We manage each part of the development process to make sure the quality is consistently high. In other words, we do the

All the while, we stick to a design aesthetic that is clean and clear with a focus on accurately and quickly conveying the significance of the provided data.
